Attorney Hanna Bui's practice focuses on technology and IP transactions, including technology and IP licensing and transfer for various technologies and services such as software, software as a service (SaaS), development services, cloud-based services, mobile computing, and e-commerce. Hanna represents large multi-national corporations as well as start-up companies. As part of her practice, Hanna routinely structures, negotiates and prepares agreements for inbound and outbound licenses, VAR, OEM, distribution, supply, strategic alliances, patent licenses, IP transfers, development services, data services and other on-line cross-promotion and marketing transactions. Prior to joining Royse Law Firm, Hanna was the CEO of Technology Transactions Law Group, which she founded in October 2002. She also served as Senior Director and Legal Counsel of BeVocal (subsequently acquired by Nuance Communications), and worked at two major Silicon Valley law firms, Cooley Godward and Fenwick & West. Hanna received her law degree (cum laude) from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1997. She was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Thurston Society. While at Hastings, Hanna served as an editor for the Hastings Law Journal and externed for Judge William H. Orrick of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She is the author of To Hire Or Not To Hire, What Silicon Valley Employers Should Know About Hiring Competitors' Employees, 48 Hastings Law Journal 981 (1997).
