Laurie A. Allen has represented technology driven companies for 20 years in the areas of corporate, securities, tax and intellectual property. Her primary focus has been in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, health care, medical devices and information technologies. Laurie’s clients have ranged from venture-backed start-ups to publically traded multinational corporations, where she has acted as lead counsel in public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital fund formation and investments, joint ventures, corporate partnering and management of strategic alliance relationships, intellectual property licensing, strategy and management of sophisticated patent litigation, as well as other general corporate matters.

Laurie has significant experience advising corporate boards with respect to their duties and best corporate governance practices. Prior to joining the Royse Law Firm, she served as the general counsel of two publically traded companies (Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc./NYSE: ARE and ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc./NASDAQ: ARIA) and was a partner in the Business and Technology Group and Life Sciences Practice of the law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP (formerly one of the nation’s leading technology law firms). Laurie is a member of the American Bar and California Bar Associations, where she is a member of the Business Law and Intellectual Property Law Sections.
