In conjunction with our tax department, we regularly structure tax efficient acquisition and investment vehicles and plan and implement 1031 like kind exchanges and 1033 involuntary conversions and condemnations. We also are often involved in reorganizations and workouts involving real estate holding companies.
Our typical real estate transactions include structuring the acquisition and financing of new real estate investment and development as well as workouts and reorganizations of distressed properties, in each case with particular emphasis on tax efficient strategies. We are also experienced at structuring US and foreign real estate investments by foreign companies and individuals.
We have formed or advised on the formation and funding of several domestic and international real estate investment funds. We are experienced at international planning for cross border real estate investments as well as the attendant international tax consequences for individuals and companies.
Finally, we have structured and implemented syndicated and closely held 1031 tenancy in common (TIC) programs as well as advised on workouts of financially distressed TICs.
